Becky Druhan officially enters race for Nova Scotia Liberal Party leadership
Druhan, MLA for Lunenburg West, has been confirmed by the party as a candidate for the leadership of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party.
HALIFAX, NS — Becky Druhan, MLA for Lunenburg West, has been confirmed by the party and is officially a candidate for the leadership of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party. Grounded in a commitment to integrity, community, and practical problem-solving, Druhan is launching her campaign to rebuild the party’s foundation and earn back the trust of Nova Scotians.
Druhan’s campaign centres on a vision of renewed hope, principled governance, and a belief that a strengthened Liberal Party is essential to building a more prosperous, compassionate province.
“I believe Nova Scotia can be a province where every community is healthy, vibrant, and full of opportunity. Where young people choose to stay, families can put down roots, businesses can succeed, and seniors can age with dignity,” said Druhan. “Before we can earn the privilege of leading our province, we must earn the confidence of Nova Scotians.”
With a diverse career spanning law, non-profit advocacy, the provincial cabinet, and as an MLA, Druhan emphasizes that her broad background has prepared her to lead the party into a competitive, collaborative new chapter.
“I’ve spent my life building. I’ve helped people navigate difficult challenges as a lawyer, building programs that improved health care access, and working with communities as an MLA to deliver real change,” Druhan added. “The hardest moments in leadership come when doing what’s right may cost you personally or politically. In those moments, principles have to come first.”
